With reference to my previous FOI request FOI-4831-1718, (1) please provide me with any data that was used to calculate that 9000 figure was/is achievable also the year/years this study took place (2) and if costs permit, If the figure of 9000 was not formulated by TfL, please supply me with the name of individuals and or organisation that provided the 9000 figure and the year the figure was provided

Thank you for your email received on 13 April asking for information regarding projected Zero Emission Capable (ZEC) taxi uptake.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

On 26 October 2015, the Mayor and TfL announced that we had secured £65m of funding to help taxi drivers achieve a target of 9,000 zero emission capable taxis by 2020. This followed on from a second consultation on proposed licensing changes ahead of the Ultra Low Emission Zone.

The data for this projected target stems from historical vehicle licensing data and estimates provided by the taxi trade. These are provided in section 4.4 of the consultation’s supplementary information addendum which is available on our website at the following location: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/environment/ulez-2/user_uploads/ulez-supp-info-2307.pdf.
