Hello,
Please can you confirm what testing London Underground does for drugs and alcohol with it’s employees? Specifically what drugs they test for.
I understand that this is due to be changed, which drugs are they testing for that they haven’t been before?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 April 2021 asking for information about what testing London Underground carries out for drugs and alcohol with its employees.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: Please can you confirm what testing London Underground does for drugs and alcohol with its employees? Specifically what drugs they test for. I understand that this is due to be changed, which drugs are they testing for that they haven’t been before?
We haven’t changed the drugs we test for however we are discussing a pilot looking at a wider panel of drugs being tested, but this has not been agreed upon or determined.
We currently test for the following drugs:
Amphetamines
Ketamine
Benzodiazepines
Cannabis
Cocaine,
Methadone
Opiates
Propoxyphene
Barbiturates
MDMA
The cut off point for alcohol is less than 13 micrograms in 100ml of breath.
