Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3rd April 2024 asking for information about the Tolworth roundabout.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Can you confirm that the roadworks being carried out on Tolworth roundabout are being done so in accordance with the plans that were consulted on and are available to the public? Specifically, can you confirm that the number of lanes entering and exiting the roundabout are consistent with what was consulted on?”.
I can confirm that the works being undertaken at Tolworth Roundabout are in accordance with the plan that TfL consulted on. There is only a minor change to this plan involving the drop-off arrangements to the Hollywood Bowl following the road safety audit of the design. This is outlined below:
The original plan showed an in and out arrangement for vehicles accessing the Hollywood Bowl as shown as “New drop off pick up area” below.
Safety auditors raised an issue with the exit point being too close to the stop line at the roundabout so the design was altered to one entry and exit access point, as shown below.
