You asked: • How many staff were furloughed during the period between 20 March 2020 and 19 October 2020? What proportion of TFL’s total workforce does this number of furloughed staff represent? If any such staff were furloughed, what proportion of the workforce dealing wholly or mainly with compliance by TFL with its obligations under data protection law does this number of furloughed staff represent? The Privacy Team are responsible for TfL’s compliance with our obligations under data protection legislation. I can confirm that none of the Privacy Team have been placed on furlough at any point during the government’s furlough scheme. • How much money has TFL spent on external legal and other fees in relation to dealing with this dispute? Has TFL approximated/hypothecated an internal cost in dealing with this dispute and, if so, what is that cost? The incomplete SAR request was dealt with in accordance with TfL’s review procedures for Data Protection, there was no charge or cost associated with this as this was done by our Privacy Team. No external legal advice was sought/required in regards to the wider dispute. Therefore there were no external legal costs as this was all provided by TfL’s in house lawyers. We do not hold an estimated internal cost as this work would have been done as part of their regular tasks.
