Please send me any guidance or other information issued by Transport for London to bus operators and drivers relating to allowing lone women or other vulnerable passengers to travel if they do not have the means to pay the fare.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 April 2018 asking for information about guidance to bus operators and drivers relating to lone women and vulnerable people.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

The safety and security of Londoners is one of our top priorities, so all London bus drivers are advised not to leave anyone stranded if they are vulnerable or obviously in danger.

Most of our staff information can be found within the Big Red Book issued to all drivers and other bus staff.

The information you have requested is found on page 101 of the current (2014) edition, as attached.
