How long is CC temporary changes for?

Temporary changes were introduced to the CC scheme from 22 June 2020, extending the hours of operation until 10pm each day and for 7 days a week. How long is this temporary changes for? Has there been any review since it has been put in place? if so, can you publish the considerations and conclusion of this review. In regards to including Sunday in the CC days is this likely to be reviewed before the mayoral election in May 2021

Our ref: FOI-0014-2021/GH Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 March 2021 asking for information about Congestion Charging. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. Temporary changes were introduced to the CC scheme from 22 June 2020, extending the hours of operation until 10pm each day and for 7 days a week. How long is this temporary changes for? The Mayoral decision document sets out the reasons for introducing the temporary changes and that they will be kept under review. It can be found here: https://www.london.gov.uk/decisions/md2648-temporary-changes-congestion-charge As the Mayoral decision document and appendices note, the temporary changes were introduced in response to the transport challenges created by the pandemic. Given the ongoing restrictions including the continuing need for social distancing, it is unknown for how long these temporary changes will need to remain in place. Has there been any review since it has been put in place? if so, can you publish the considerations and conclusion of this review. The Mayoral decision document states that the temporary changes will be reviewed having regard to the transport challenges of the pandemic and that it is expected that TfL’s review will take account of important milestones in the response to the pandemic or significant changes in circumstances. As stated above, Government restrictions remain in place and public transport capacity is still reduced due to social distancing requirements. The temporary changes to the Congestion Charging scheme continue to be a necessary response to the transport challenges created by the pandemic. TfL is also considering the long term impacts that the pandemic is likely to have on people’s travel choices and the measures that are needed in order to avoid a car led recovery from the pandemic. Traffic in the zone is monitored and reported in the Travel in London reports. The temporary changes including the days of operation will continue to be kept under review having regard to these challenges, important milestones in the response to the pandemic or significant changes in circumstances.
