You can use Taxicard wherever you live in London.

You can use Capital Call if you are already a member and live in Bexley, Ealing, Enfield, Haringey, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton and Southwark. Capital Call is now no longer open to new members.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for Taxicard if you:

  • Receive the higher rate mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance or the higher rate Attendance Allowance
  • Are registered blind
  • Receive the War Pension Mobility Component

If none of these apply to you, you may still be eligible if your GP endorses your application. You may have to have a mobility assessment.

Capital Call

The Capital Call scheme is closed to new members. However the scheme continues to operate for its existing members.

In summer 2018, the operation of Capital Call will transfer from Hackney Community Transport's transport co-ordination centre to Transport for London (TfL).

We have tried to answer some of the questions that you might have about the transfer below:

Will Capital Call be continuing?

Yes, the Capital Call scheme will continue to operate for its existing members, but the telephone number that you use to make your bookings will change in the summer.

Will I still receive the same amount of virtual budget to spend?

Yes, you will still receive the same amount of virtual budget once the transfer takes place. TfL will be informed of your remaining budget at the time of the transfer.

Will there be a new telephone number for bookings?

Yes, there will be a new telephone number. Hackney Community Transport will write to all Capital Call members closer to the time of the transfer with the new number.

Will the new telephone number be free of charge?

No, the new number will be a TfL '034' number, which are designed for public services.

The booking line will be open at the same times as it is today.

Will I still be able to use my favourite private hire vehicle operator after the transfer?

TfL will be using its own framework of suppliers, but are approaching the existing suppliers to Capital Call to ask them to join this framework.

Where can I find out more?

TfL will organize some local customer meetings in mid May to discuss the transfer in greater detail with you. Details of where these meetings will take place will be sent to all Capital Call members nearer to the time and you will have the opportunity to book a place to attend. TfL will provide free transport for you to attend.
