You must notify the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) immediately if you change the number plate of your vehicle if it has a Reduced Pollution or Low Emission Certificate.
For Heavy Goods Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight you will need to submit a Notifiable Alteration Form, the appropriate fee along with the original Reduced Pollution or Low Emission Certificate. You can download the notifiable alteration form and guidance notes on GOV.UK.
For Light Goods Vehicles 3.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight and under, you will need to send a copy of the V5C vehicle registration certificate (logbook) displaying the new number plate along with the original Reduced Pollution or Low Emission Certificate to:

There is no fee for the issue of a new certificate.
For buses, coaches or minibuses, you need to submit a copy of the V5C vehicle registration certificate (logbook) displaying the new number plate along with the original Reduced Pollution or Low Emission Certificate and, if it applies, the original Certificate of Initial Fitness. All documents should be sent together to the address above.
There is no fee for the issue of new Reduced Pollution or Low Emission Certificates due to number plate change.
