Work starts on DLR Woolwich Arsenal Extension

They will be joined by Minister for London Jim Fitzpatrick, Nick Raynsford, MP (Greenwich and Woolwich), DLR Chairman Ian Brown.
The Band of the Royal Artillery will play.
This will be followed by a reception at the Firepower Museum at the Royal Arsenal.
Guests will be accompanied by the Town Crier out of General Gordon Place through the Woolwich market, to the Museum.
- Why Due for completion in 2009, the DLR Woolwich Arsenal Extension is a vital part of the transport network which will serve the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It will be built regardless of the success of the Olympic bid and will help trigger regeneration in the Thames Gateway area - Where General Gordon Place - opposite Woolwich Arsenal Station
