- The congestion charge operates from 7am until 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. The charge does not operate on weekends or bank holidays
- Since the introduction of the charge congestion has been reduced by 30%, which has improved journey times and reliability. Road accidents and vehicle emissions within the zone have also been reduced
- The congestion charge has raised net revenues in excess of £170 million since its introduction in February 2003. All net revenues are invested in London's transport system
- The new charge is expected to raise an additional £35-45million per year to be invested in London's transport system. It is expected that the number of vehicle movements coming into the charging zone during charging hours by vehicles with four or more wheels would decline by an additional 3-7 per cent
- The £8 charge will maintain and improve on the current benefits experienced within the zone.
