Create a contactless and Oyster account which allows you to:

  • See a summary of the cost of your travel so far today
  • See your journey and payment history. This will show all journeys for up to the last 12 months
  • Get email alerts if there's an issue with your contactless card that might stop you from using it to travel
  • Apply for refunds for incomplete journeys
  • Download your payments and journey history as a CSV or PDF file
  • Pay unpaid fares

How to create an account

You will need to:

  1. Provide an active email address
  2. Create an account password and six-digit password
  3. Choose a security question and answer
  4. Provide your name and address

When you create your account we will verify your details with your card issuer to confirm that your card has not been reported as lost or stolen.

Once your account has been confirmed, you can add your contactless card, mobile phone or other contactless device. To do this you will need to provide:

  • Your name (as printed on the card)
  • The card number
  • The expiry date
  • The security (CVV) number
  • Your card billing address

Whenever you get a new card (for example to replace one that has expired or was lost or stolen), you will need to add it to your online account.

Already have an Oyster account?

If you already have an Oyster account, you don't need to sign up again. Just add your contactless card,  mobile phone or other contactless device. Simply sign in using your email address and password.

No contactless or Oyster account?

If you don't have a contactless and Oyster account, you can still access your journey and payment history, but only for the last 7 days. To do this, you will need to provide the details of the card that you used to travel.

See your last 7 days journey and payment history (you'll go to a security check page first).

You won't be able to see details of journeys you made today until tomorrow.

Using your personal information

If you sign up for a contactless and Oyster account and add a contactless card, mobile phone or other contactless device, Transport for London (TfL), its subsidiaries and service providers, will use your personal information for customer services and administration, the provision of travel related information, customer research and fraud prevention.

If you use contactless payments on National Rail services, you will also be authorising us to share your personal information with relevant Train Operating Companies (TOCs).

In certain circumstances, TfL and relevant TOCs may also share your personal information with the police and other law enforcement agencies for the prevention or detection of crime.

If you don't have a contactless and Oyster account

If you access your journey data without signing up for an account, TfL, its subsidiaries and service provider, will use your personal information for providing you with journey and charging history associated with your contactless payment card and to respond to specific enquiries you may have regarding its use for travel.

If you don't have an account, you will need to enter your contactless payment card number, expiry date, card security code and billing address each time you want to see your last seven days of journey and charging data. We will use the information you provide to carry out an authorisation check with your card issuer and will not use or retain it for any other purpose.

Your personal information will be properly safeguarded and processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
