• Tour of Britain Cycle Race (1000-1800)
    World class professional cycling race around a one mile circuit starting and finishing in Whitehall, following a route through Trafalgar Square, Northumberland Avenue, Victoria Embankment and Parliament Square.
  • Regent Street Festival (1200-2000)
    An international festival featuring food, music, shopping and activities.
  • Hydro active Women's Challenge (1000-1300)
    A "women only" 5km run/walk marathon through Hyde Park to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and various other charities.

The following stations will be very busy as a result:
Bayswater, High Street Kensington, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge, Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, Queensway, Charing Cross, Embankment, Green Park, Oxford Circus, Westminster, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.

For those who wish, bicycles can be taken free of charge on some sections of the Underground.

  • Outside of peak times bicycles are allowed:
    On all sections of the Circle, District, East London, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines
  • Between Queen's Park - Harrow & Wealdstone on the Bakerloo line
  • Between Finchley Road - Stanmore and Canning Town - Stratford on the Jubilee line.
  • Between Edgware - Colindale, Hendon Central - Golders Green and East Finchley - High Barnet/Mill Hill East on the Northern line.
  • Between Barons Court - Hounslow West/Uxbridge and Cockfosters - Oakwood on the Piccadilly line.
  • Between West Ruislip/Ealing Broadway - White City, Leyton - Epping, Newbury Park/Woodford - Hainault on the Central line

Bicycles are not allowed on:

  • Victoria line
  • Waterloo & City line
  • DLR and Croydon Tramlink

Tube network disruption

  • District line - due to track replacement work at Barons Court no trains between Earl's Court and Richmond/Acton Town. Reduced services throughout the reminder of the line, except Edgware Road - Olympia. Two Replacement Services will operate.
  • Piccadilly line -due to track replacement work - no trains between Hyde Park Corner to Acton Town
  • Bakerloo line - due to track replacement work no trains between Stonebridge Park to Harrow & Wealdstone

Buses:

Due to the Tour of Britain and the Regent Street Festival, significant bus curtailments and diversions will be in effect in the area.

3, 6, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 23, 24, 29, 53, 77A, 88, 91, 94, 139, 148, 159, 176, 211, 453, C2, N2, N3, N11, N13, N15, N16, N18, N23, N36, N44, N52, N77, N155, N159, N279, N343, N381.

Road closures:

  • Whitehall and Parliament Street (both directions) 0500 - 2030
  • Bridge Street (both directions) 0700 - 1700
  • Victoria Embankment from Bridge Street - Northumberland Avenue (both directions) 0700 - 1700
  • Northumberland Avenue (both directions) 0700 - 1700
  • Regent Street between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus will be closed to traffic from 0400 Sunday until 0200 Monday 5th September.
