How long: 2 years

Where: London/Hybrid

Up to 50% of time can be spent working from home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements may alter subject to business requirements.

Salary: £31,000 rising to £32,250 in year 2

What you'll need

A minimum of 2:2 degree in one of the following (or similar):

  • Environmental Management
  • Sustainability
  • Geography
  • Business Management
  • History
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
  • Economics or Finance
  • Design or Architecture
  • Town or Development Planning
  • Finance accountancy
  • Communication
  • Project Management

You may be required to undertake a medical, which may include (but is not limited to): drugs and alcohol screening, eye test and hearing test.

What you'll be doing

Your two-year development programme will be made up of four different placements within TfL each lasting six months. You'll gain experience across different roles and in a variety of different departments. Each Sustainability Graduate's journey will be unique, our current graduates are in placements in:

  • Responsible Procurements
  • Facilities Management
  • Highways Assets
  • Transport Strategy & Policy
  • Projects, Consents & Urban Design

As part of gaining understanding of TfL's core work, the scheme includes up to a week of shifts working with Customer Service Assistants in a centrally located London Underground station.
