Where: London-based hybrid working. Expected 1-2 days on average in the office (subject to working patterns and business requirements).
Salary: £25,264
What you'll need
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade A* - C or Grade 4 and above including Maths and English language
- Plus 3 A-Levels at grades BBC (or equivalent) which must include Maths and preferably a Science in either Chemistry or Physics
- You must be 18 years old by September 2023 to be eligible for this scheme
Job overview
Our Engineers focus on the assets that form the foundation of our transport system. As a TfL building surveyor, you'll be part of the world renowned TfL Engineering.
You'll gain the unique experience of working as a building surveyor on essential infrastructure designed to keep London moving.
You'll assist in a wide variety of construction projects in the TfL portfolio, from routine maintenance to major station redevelopments.
TfL has a wide variety of properties ranging from historic listed buildings to major transport interchanges and depots. Any one of which you may be asked to survey and give reasoned advice to those who are responsible for their upkeep.
What you'll be doing
As an apprentice, your 6-year development programme will be made up of up to 12 placement rotations.
Our aim is to equip you with the range of skills and experience you need for your successful career. We also understand that everyone's career is different, so every apprentice's journey is unique.
Where this career can take you
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you'll be a Chartered Building Surveyor with world renowned status.
You'll have the opportunity further develop your career and be responsible for you're the design and implementation of your own projects, which could range from minor refurbishments to major infrastructure projects.
It's TfL's intention to bring the right candidate up to the level of Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Assoc RICS).
This is a very good grounding for a fascinating career in the built environment and you will be encouraged to progress to full membership of RICS (MRICS) and beyond.
