Activate and Reactivate employability programmes

These two 12-week programmes will equip people with the skills they need for work and bring them closer to exciting new job opportunities.

About Activate and Reactivate

Activate and Reactivate are two programmes that connect people who are out of work to new opportunities.

Activate

For adults with little to no work experience who want to step into the world of work.

Reactivate

For adults with significant work experience who are unsure of how to transfer their skills into a new career or who lack work experience in the UK.

Both programmes are a mixture of training and practical experience that allow you to:

  • Learn new skills and refresh old ones
  • Experience different workplaces
  • Meet people with interesting career journeys
  • Connect with hiring managers

Qualifications you can gain

The qualifications you'll get are tailored to the area of work in which you'll be gaining experience. So that when you complete the programme, you'll be ready to start your career journey and gain skills, confidence, and knowledge.

How you will be supported

You can receive a wealth of support ranging from personal wellbeing to job search support during and after the programme. This is possible because we work with training providers to run our employability programmes.

Many people who have completed the programmes have now gained paid employment in TfL and elsewhere.

Recruitment process

Our recruitment process includes:

  • Short English and maths assessments
  • Conversations about your motivations for joining the programme

Our assessment process helps us understand how to best support you. This includes signposting to other opportunities available.

Next programme dates

Activate is now open for referrals until 19 September 2024.

Reactivate is not currently open for referrals but you can email us for more information.
