In November 2014, we and our industry partners Crossrail, the Department for Transport (DfT), Network Rail, Women's Engineering Society (WES), Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), and London Transport Museum (LTM), launched the 100 Years of Women in Transport programme (YOWIT). It was created to celebrate the significant role women have played in the transport industry, reflect on our current gender diversity and improve it further through initiatives, events and activities.
Two hundred representatives from across the transport industry attended our launch event which marked a commitment to refocusing efforts on improving diversity. Find out more about our launch event.

Because of the programme's success, we're going to continue YOWIT as a legacy campaign. Renamed Women in Transport (WIT) it will carry on delivering a full programme of events. We are also developing a purpose and brand for transport which is owned and championed by the industry. We'll use this to continue developing our workforce and inspire the next generation of transport professionals.
