Tube - industrial action

On Friday 26 April some stations may need to close at short notice due to a strike.

Check before you travel and plan ahead using our travel tools.


National rail strikes

Industrial action by the ASLEF union is planned on national rail services between Monday 6 and Saturday 11 May.

Levels of disruption will vary on each of these days, with no services in some places.

Check for the latest updates before travelling.

Tram strikes

Tram strikes are planned:

  • From 20:00 Sunday 5 May to 06:00 Thursday 9 May

  • From 20:00 Thursday 11 July to 06:00 Monday 15 July

Between Sunday 5 May and Thursday 9 May, we expect tram services will run as follows:

Sunday 5 May 

  • Normal service

Monday 6 - Wednesday 8 May

  • No service through Croydon town centre or to/from Elmer's End all day

Before 07:00

  • No service

Between 07:00 and 18:00

The only services running will be between:

  • Wimbledon and Reeves Corner
  • East Croydon and Beckenham Junction/New Addington

After 18:00

  • No service

Thursday 9 May

  • Services expected to start later than normal
  • Possible disruption throughout the day

There are planned Tram works from Friday 29 March - Wednesday 24 April between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction / Elmers End / New Addington.

Use alternative routes, plan ahead and allow more time for your journey.
