This work is to make space for new trains from May 2017, and new Elizabeth line services from December 2018.
It will include building a new platform and remodelling a major junction to allow the new, longer trains to run. Find out more about the new trains and the Elizabeth line.
The work will mean:
A frequent rail replacement bus service will run between Brentwood and Shenfield stations. The journey time will be about 6-10 minutes and 15-20 minutes during peak times.
Tickets will be accepted on local bus route 81 between Brentwood and Shenfield stations (via Brentwood High Street) for connections with Greater Anglia services at Shenfield.
TfL Rail and Greater Anglia trains on the rest of the line may be busier than usual. Further track closures at weekends will affect both TfL Rail and Greater Anglia services.
A slightly reduced peak service will run between Gidea Park and Brentwood:
The 04:44 train from Shenfield to Brentwood and the 01:32 train from Brentwood to Shenfield will continue to run on weekdays.
At Brentwood station all trains will depart from and arrive at platform 4. For step-free access please use the entrance to platform 4 on The Parade.
More than 400 car parking spaces are available at Brentwood station. For more information, visit the Brentwood station page on the NCP website.
Shenfield car park is extremely busy - please use rail replacement buses to Shenfield instead.
We are making improvements at Brentwood station.
Network Rail is also building longer platforms at Brentwood station to make way for the new trains.
