Kidbrooke Park Road

The works form part of the Kidbrooke Village development and will be completed in stages to keep disruption to a minimum. They include:

  • Replacing the pedestrian subway under Kidbrooke Park Road with a surface-level signalised crossing
  • Providing a new signalised crossing at the junction of Kidbrooke Park Road and Weigall Road
  • Installing new footways, street furniture, street lighting and drainage systems

Roads around Kidbrooke will be busy while we change the road layout of Kidbrooke Park Road. Here's how your journey could be affected:

Driving

Driving restrictions will make roads around the area busy. If you can, avoid travelling around the build area during peak times (07:00-09:00 and 16:30-19:30 on weekdays and 10:00-19:00 on weekends), and allow more time for your journey.

A full closure of Kidbrooke Park Road is planned for eight weeks in summer 2017.

Kidbrooke Park Road will be open with one lane in each direction as normal during peak periods until the full closure, although the lanes will be narrower than usual.

Overnight lane closures may be needed on Kidbrooke Park Road from 21:00-05:00. Vehicles will still have access in both directions through temporary traffic signals.

Temporary partial closures of adjoining roads may also be needed. Any diversion routes will be clearly signed.

Buses

Buses passing through Kidbrooke may be diverted or delayed during construction.

Route 178 is affected with bus stops L and M at Kidbrooke Health Centre suspended until the end of September 2017.

  • Northbound passengers should use the existing bus stop N on Kidbrooke Park Road, south of Weigall Road
  • Southbound passengers should use the existing bus stop on Kidbooke Park Road near the junction with Cambert Way
