Camden High Street

Cobden Junction (outside Mornington Crescent Tube station) and Britannia junction have already been improved by new public spaces with better crossings for pedestrians.

Camden High Street South (between Mornington Crescent station and Camden Town stations) will complete the regeneration of the area. It forms part of the TfL Road Network (red route) and is also part of a localised gyratory system that carries traffic along the A503 corridor towards Holloway in the north and Euston in the south.

Improvements will include:

  • Renewed carriageways
  • Wider footways
  • More seats and cycle stands
  • Trees planted
  • A review of parking and loading activities on the street

Additional traffic calming measures are being considered to build upon the success of the 20mph limit on the high street.

A feasibility design is in progress and a public consultation planned for early 2017. Depending on the results of the consultation, work could start in early 2018.
