We are working with development partners, local councils and the Greater London Authority to define transport needs for the Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration area. Work could begin on site by October 2017.
The highway infrastructure associated with the project is complex. Works include:
- M1/A5/A406 - Staples Corner roundabout will have a larger, signalised junction
- Entrance to Brent Cross shopping centre from the A406 will be improved with a new slip-road. Internal roads and roundabouts will be enlarged and the river Brent diverted
- A41/A406 - the roundabout will have more room and new structures
- New bridges will be created, replacing the existing A406 Templehof Avenue Bridge and a new pedestrian bridge (Living Bridge) over the A406 to provide access to Brent Cross
Consultation on the project design is being led by the developers. We are working with them to make sure transport needs are planned for.
