VE Day 80 events
There will be 4 days of commemorative events starting on Early May Bank Holiday (Monday 5 May) and running through to Thursday 8 May. They include a military procession and flypast, a display of poppies at the Tower of London, and a concert at Horseguards Parade.

Monday 5 May
Roads around Westminster will be closed for the military procession. This will affect driving and buses.
Driving
Road closures will start before the procession and run throughout the event. Most of the impact will be from 06:30 until 17:00.
Affected areas include Parliament Square, Whitehall and The Mall, following the route of the military procession.
Buses
Some bus routes in Westminster will be affected by road closures.
Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destinations.

Tube
London Underground services will be running normally.
Westminster station will be busy from 09:00-11:00. Consider using Waterloo or Embankment for a more comfortable journey.
Green Park will be busy from 13:00 to 15:00. Consider using Victoria or Bond Street (for the Elizabeth line) for a more comfortable journey.
There may be some short-term measures to keep people safe. These could include queuing or changes to the way you enter or exit a station.

Tuesday 6 May to Thursday 8 May
Events planned for Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 May do not involve major closures and will have limited impact on travel in London.
There are likely to be crowds at events and the immediate area may be busy, but you will be able to get to where you want to go.
