We are carrying out work which will provide step-free access and a larger ticket hall at Colindale Tube station. For more details of these improvements, see our project page for Colindale station step-free access.

We need to:

  • Close Colindale station from Friday 7 June until December 2024
  • Carry out a series of partial closures of the Northern line between Golders Green and Edgware

This webpage will be updated regularly.

Bus route 186

  • On bus route 186, your bus fare will be refunded automatically if you use contactless or Oyster to travel between Mill Hill Broadway and Hendon Central. To get your bus fare back, you need to make a journey on the bus and touch in or out at either of these stations.
  • You may need to wait for your refund to appear. Refunds are issued every Wednesday, for travel made up to the previous Friday. Contactless payments are refunded back onto the contactless card you used to travel. If you use an Oyster card, you will need to travel again with your Oyster card and then the refund will be sent back to that card
  • We are running extra buses on route 186 to fill the gap in service between the 186 bus and the N5 night bus, after midnight on Friday/Saturday and early morning Saturday/Sundays.  They provide access to Northern line stations for Night Tube services. The extra buses are running between Hendon Central and Quakers Course (Grahame Park) / Edgware while Colindale station is closed.

  • Normal TfL and Thameslink fares apply on all other routes
  • Oyster top-ups or ticket machines are not available at Colindale station during the closure.  If you need to buy or top-up your Oyster card, use nearby Oyster ticket stops or Tube and rail stations
  • Using a contactless card or mobile device for adult rate pay as you go travel also includes daily and weekly fare capping
