The Congestion Charge is an £11.50 daily charge for driving a vehicle within the charging zone between 07:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday. The easiest way to pay the charge is by registering for Congestion Charge Auto Pay. There are a range of exemptions and discounts available to certain vehicles and individuals. See a map of the Congestion Charge zone.
We expect to return to normal service by 08:00 on Monday 26 September 2016. Apologies for any inconvenience.
If you travelled within either zone on Friday 23 September, you have until midnight on Monday 26 September to pay.
We can't process payments against PCNs until our services resume.
After 08:00 on Monday 26 September you can pay a PCN either online or by calling us on 0343 222 3333 (TfL call charges).
The penalty charge will not increase while our services are unavailable, and will not progress to the next stage of enforcement.
Traffic signs and road markings make it clear when you are approaching, entering, and leaving the charging zone.
Directional signs and/or road markings show which routes take you into the charging zone and which don't.
Some approach lanes to the charging zone are also marked with a white symbol.
You will often see red C road markings close to the entry of the zone.
As you leave the congestion charging zone you'll see this sign showing the end of the zone.
On the main approach roads two types of sign show hours of operation and some also show how much you have to pay.
