New Barnet station works

From Tuesday 13 February until mid April 2018 bus stop A at New Barnet station is closed.

This is while repairs are carried out to the station boundary wall.

There will be temporary changes to routes 107, 383 and 384.

Routes 107 and 383 will not serve stop A at New Barnet station and will stop at alternative stops on Station Road.

Route 384 towards Cockfosters will not change. However passengers travelling towards Barnet will be directed to the hail and ride section on Station Approach.

Eastbourne Terrace works

From Monday 12 February 19:00 until Sunday 11 March 2018 17:00, Eastbourne Terrace is closed between Bishops Bridge Road and Praed Street in both directions.

This is while contractors undertake work on behalf of Crossrail and Thames Water.

There will be temporary changes to routes 7, 23, 27, 36, 46, 205, 332, N7 and N206.

Wood Street works

From Monday 5 February 10:00 until late March 2018 the bus only section of Wood Street, near the Bentall Centre is closed.

This is while the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames carries out road works.

There will be temporary changes to routes 111, 216, 281, 285, 411, 461, 481 and X26.

The above routes will not serve stop N on Clarence Street or stops P1, P2, or P3 on Wood Street and will be diverted in both directions via Horse Fair.

Buses towards Kingston Town Centre will serve a temporary stop on Wood Street, outside TGI Fridays

Crouch Hill works

From Monday 19 February 09:30 until Sunday 6 May 2018 17:00 Crouch Hill Bridge is closed.

This is due to a major project to raise the Crouch Hill Bridge.

Route W7 will be diverted in both directions between Stroud Green Road and Crouch End Broadway via Hanley Road and Hornsey Rise, not serving Crouch Hill or Crouch Hill station.

Routes 210 and W3 will not be diverted, but may be delayed.

Routes 41, 91 and diverted W7 will provide alternative services within 500m of Crouch Hill.

Beddington Lane works

Bus route 463 diverted

From Monday 8 January 2018 06:30 until early April 2018 Beddington Lane is closed and there are temporary changes to bus route 463.

This is while London Borough of Merton carries out footway works and carriageway widening.

Route 463:

  • Is diverted in both directions via Ampere Way, Purley Way and Mitcham Road
  • Does not serve Coomber Way, Beddington Lane or Beddington Lane Tram Stop
  • Serves all bus stops on diversion

In Coomber Way you can use route 455 to connect with diverted route 463 buses in Ampere Way.

In Beddington Lane or at Beddington Lane Tram Stop you can use Tramlink to / from Therapia Lane Tram Stop to connect with diverted route 463 buses (bus stops in Ampere Way).

You can connect with Tramlink at Therapia Lane Tram Stop (bus stops in Ampere Way) instead of at Beddington Lane Tram Stop.

Beckenham High Street works

From 06:00 on Monday 26 February 2018 we will be re-opening a small section of the high street.

Route 162 will therefore return to normal, serving stop D, opposite Marks & Spencer.

All other diversions, as listed below will remain in place until further notice.

Until summer 2018, some bus routes are diverted in Beckenham town centre.This affects routes 54, 227, 354, 367 and N3.

This is due to a programme of one-way road closures of Beckenham High Street by London Borough of Bromley for improvement works. The works are being carried out in phases. Find out more about the improvement works.

From Monday 8 January 2018 05:00 to late March 2018, Beckenham High Street is closed southbound between Albemarle Road and Bromley Road and between Manor Road and Village Way.

  • Bus stops D, H and K in the high street (southbound) will be closed and stop R in the High Street, will only be served by route 352
  • Bus stops C and J in the High Street (northbound) will remain open but may be temporarily relocated a short distance
  • Southbound routes 54, 162, 227, 354, 367 and N3 will be diverted
  • Northbound buses and routes 194, 352 and 358 will not be diverted

Route 54 towards Elmers End and route 354 towards Penge

These routes will:

  • Not serve stops D, H, K and R in High Street
  • Be diverted via Rectory Road, serving temporary stop G and stop W in Rectory Road
  • Continue to serve stop W in Southend Road and stop S in Croydon Road (route 54) or stop BP in Beckenham Road (route 354) as normal

Route 227 towards Crystal Palace and route N3 towards Oxford Circus

These routes will:

  • Not serve stops H, K and R in High Street
  • Be diverted via High Street (northbound) and Rectory Road, serving temporary stop G and stop W in Rectory Road (but will not stop in High Street)
  • Serve stop F in Bromley Road and stop BP in Beckenham Road as normal

Route 367 towards West Croydon

This route will:

  • Not serve stops H and K in High Street
  • Be diverted via High Street (northbound), Rectory Road and High Street (eastbound), serving temporary stop G and stop W in Rectory Road (but will not stop in High Street)
  • Serve stop F in Bromley Road and stop M in Village Way as normal

From late March 2018 to summer 2018

Bus diversions for further phases of this work will be posted here when they are confirmed. Route 352 will be diverted during this time.

Route 367 is operating at a reduced frequency during these works.

Chelsea Embankment works

As part of their Essential Mains Replacement Programme, Cadent are upgrading the old metal gas mains along Chelsea Embankment.

Chelsea Embankment is closed to westbound traffic from Chelsea Bridge to Beaufort Street from 22:00 Sunday 26 November until Sunday 1 April 2018.

Routes 170 and 260 are diverted westbound.
Routes 11, 19, 22, 49, 211, 319, N11, N19 and N22 are not diverted but may be delayed as traffic finds alternative routes.

Hackney Wick - route 26

From Monday 6 November 2017 until late March 2018, route 26 will not run between Cassland Road and St. Mary of Eton Church in Hackney Wick. This is due to the refurbishment of the bus stand in Eastway. During this time, route 26 from Waterloo will finish in Cassland Road, near Wick Road (stop H) and start in Wick Road, near Kenworthy Road (stop J). Route 30 and route 388 (eastbound only) continue to run between Cassland Road and St Mary of Eton Church or Chapman Road nearby. Route N26 is not affected.

Liverpool Street bus station works

Bus routes 11, 133, 153, N11, N133 affected

From 23:30 on Monday 6 November 2017 until late November 2018, Liverpool Street bus Station is closed to allow construction work on the adjacent Broadgate site redevelopment.

Routes 11, 133, N11 and N133:

  • Finish at Old Broad Street, near Great Winchester Street (stop Z), approximately 275m from Liverpool Street station.
  • Start at London Wall, All Hallows Church (stop U), approximately 275m from Liverpool Street station, and serve Old Broad Street, near Great Winchester Street (stop R) as normal

They will return to normal when the bus station reopens.

Route 153

Route 153 will continue to start and finish at Moorgate, Finsbury Square (stop J), approximately 500m from Liverpool Street station. It was temporarily re-routed to Moorgate, Finsbury Square to maintain  reliability during roadworks and road closures. The route will be restored to the bus station when it reopens.

Sutton Hospital - Route S3

Bus route S3 diverted to Belmont station until further notice.

From Saturday 28 October 2017 until further notice, route S3 no longer serves Sutton Hospital (bus stop K) or Cotswold Road (bus stops E and F).

Route S3 now runs the full length of Downs Road to Belmont rail station. The last stop is stop D and the first stop is stop C. It continues to serve stops M and N in Downs Road (near Cotswold Road) and stop L in the grounds of Royal Marsden Hospital.

This is due to the redevelopment of Sutton Hospital. We are no longer able to use the bus stop in the hospital grounds.

We are working with the developers to reinstate route S3 to the redeveloped site in the future.

Blackwall Tunnel overnight works

Route 108 is affected by overnight works in the Blackwall Tunnel on various dates.

Between 00:01 and 08:00, route 108 cannot run through the Blackwall Tunnel due to routine maintenance on the following Sundays:

  • 18 February 2018
  • 4 March 2018
  • 18 March 2018

Please check back here for future dates.

During these times route 108 runs as two separate services:

  • North of the Thames between Stratford International and All Saints, and then diverted to and from Canning Town (bus stop E)
  • South of the Thames between North Greenwich (bus stop B) and Lewisham

You can transfer free of charge between Canning Town and North Greenwich on the Tube (Jubilee Line) and back onto route 108 again. Ask your route 108 bus driver for a transfer voucher. You don't need a transfer voucher if you have a Travelcard valid for Zones 2 or 3.

Five bus stops are not served (please use another nearby bus stop on routes 108 or 188 instead):

Towards Lewisham:

  • Stop M in Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach
  • Stop MA in Dreadnought Street

Towards Stratford International:

  • Stop MT in Millennium Way
  • Stops MU and MV in Tunnel Avenue

Baker Street area - two-way works

Until early 2019, buses serving the Baker Street, Gloucester Place and Lisson Grove area may change temporarily and/or be delayed.

The routes affected are: 2, 13, 18, 27, 30, 74, 113, 139, 189, 205, 274, 453, N2, N18, N74, N113 and N205. This is due to works to convert Baker Street and Gloucester Place to two-way traffic.
