This document sets out bus route service changes that have been approved and confirmed as going ahead.
From Saturday 19 November at Vauxhall station, we are re-routing buses to Battersea Park station via Nine Elms Lane and Battersea Park Road. It will now run between Lewisham and Battersea Park station. The route will no longer run between Vauxhall and Paddington via Victoria and Marble Arch. Route 36, which runs between New Cross and Queen's Park, will continue to run on this section.
We are adding additional journeys on route 36 during peak hours (four towards Queen's Park in the morning and four towards New Cross in the afternoon) to provide sufficient capacity. During Monday to Friday peak hours, buses on route 436 will now run every 7-8 minutes instead of every 6 minutes
From Saturday 19 November, we are extending the route from Wandsworth Road station to Vauxhall bus station via Wandsworth Road. It will now run between Kensal Rise and Vauxhall bus station.
These changes follow our consultation earlier this year. They mean more buses will serve the growing employment and retail opportunities in the Vauxhall, Nine Elms and Battersea development area, in advance of the Northern line extension.
The extension will provide new links to this area and north west London, allowing us to more closely match bus service capacity to changing customer demands.
East Croydon bus station is undergoing improvement works from 31 October for five months. Buses will not serve the station and some routes will be diverted until the work is complete.
Tower Bridge will be closed to all vehicles, including bicycles, until 30 December 2016. The City of London Corporation is undertaking major essential maintenance works.
