Additional school buses

With further easing of Government lockdown restrictions coming into effect on Monday 17 May, we will be removing the designated 'school services' from the bus network and increasing the capacity of all our buses in line with current government guidance.

We will continue to run additional buses providing additional capacity at school start and end times. These additional journeys will continue to be reviewed to ensure our approach is working and meeting demand as best as possible. Double deck buses for route 481 - 8 May 2021

Route Affected: 481

From 8 May we will be increasing the size of buses on route 481 to provide more seats on every journey by replacing the current single deck buses with double deck buses. Also from this date we will be introducing new school day only journeys in the AM peak from Kingston to West Middlesex Hospital and in the PM peak from West Middlesex Hospital to Kingston.

Finally, we will be removing the temporary schedule in place which will restore the daytime service on Monday to Saturdays to every 30 minutes. The Sunday service will continue to be every hour with no late evening service on any day of the week.

Route 481 will be operated by London United from 8 May.

Timetable changes - 8 May 2021

Routes Affected: 285, 290, 490, H25, H26 and H28

The temporary timetable on route 285 will be removed with the frequency of the AM peak service restored to every 12 minutes. No change to the timetable at any other time.

The temporary timetable on route 290 will be removed and the timetable from December 2020 will be reinstated.

The temporary timetable on route 490 will be removed with the frequency of the AM peak service restored to every 9-10 minutes and the PM peak service to 10 minutes on Monday to Fridays. No change to the timetable at any other time.

The temporary timetable on route H25 will be removed and the timetable from December 2020 will be reinstated.

The temporary timetable on route H26 will be removed and the timetable from December 2020 will be reinstated.

The temporary timetable on route H28 will be removed and the timetable from December 2020 will be reinstated.

Timetable changes - 22 May 2021

Route Affected: 204

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 204 due to roadworks on Colindale Avenue. The frequency of the service will be amended to every 11 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 16 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Timetable changes - 29 May 2021

Routes Affected: 105, 190, 214, E1, E9, N63 and N199

Route 105 will have a new timetable on all days with minor changes to times.

Route 190 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised towards Richmond to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 214 will have a new timetable from this date. There will be no change to the daytime service on this route however on Friday and Saturday nights buses will now run every 12 minutes. There is no change to the service on any other night of the week.

Route E1 will be operated by RATP London from this date with minor changes to the timetable on all days of the week. No change to the structure of the route.

Route E9 will be operated by Metroline from this date with minor changes to the timetable on all days of the week. No change to the structure of the route.

Route N63 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will now run every 20 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights. There is no change to the service on any other night of the week.

Route N199 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will now run every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights. There is no change to the service on any other night of the week.

Timetable changes - 5 June 2021

Routes Affected: 639, 649, 670, 690, N26, N137 and W11

Routes 639 & 670 will be operated by RATP London from this date. No change to departure times or structure of either route.

Route 649 will have a new timetable on schooldays with the PM departures from Campion School retimed to depart at 1445.

Route 690 will have a new timetable on schooldays with the PM departures from Burntwood School retimed to depart at 1436 and 1456.

Route N26 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will now run every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights. There is no change to the service on any other night of the week.

Route N137 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will now run every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights. There is no change to the service on any other night of the week.

Route W11 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Hammersmith Bridge closure

Routes Affected: 33, 72, 209, 378, 419, 485, 533, N33 and N72  

Hammersmith Bridge is currently closed to all users, including people walking and cycling, for safety reasons.

Routes 33, 209 and 485 are starting and finishing at the junction of Castelnau and Lonsdale Road to the south of Hammersmith Bridge. Route 72 continues to terminate on the north side of Hammersmith Bridge.

Circular route 533 has been introduced running from Hammersmith Lower Bus Station via Great West Road, Chiswick Bridge, Mortlake High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Lonsdale Road to Castlenau then returning to Hammersmith via Barnes High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Mortlake High Street, Chiswick Bridge and Great West Road. Route 533 runs every 10 minutes in the AM and PM peak on Monday to Fridays and every 12 minutes during the daytime on all days of the week. The evening frequency on all days of the week will remain at a bus every 15 minutes. First buses depart Hammersmith at 0448 and Castelnau at 0510. Last buses depart Hammersmith at 0050 and Castelnau at 0110.

More buses have also been added to route 378 which runs between Mortlake, Barnes High Street and Putney Bridge Station every 7-8 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 10 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route 419 is diverting at the southern end of Hammersmith Bridge to run to and from Roehampton, Bessborough Road replacing route 72 over this section. Route 419 runs every 12 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 20 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route N33 is diverting between Barnes, Red Lion and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road. Route N72 is diverting between Barnes Station and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road.

Long Term Diversions

Routes Affected: 8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 25, 26, 37, 60, 63, 65, 71, 78, 85, 109, 119, 133, 166, 197, 281, 312, 319, 343, 363, 405, 406, 407, 412, 418, 433, 455, 465, 466, 468, 521, 671, G1, K4, P12, P13, N8, N11, N15, N25, N26, N63, N65, N68, N109, N133, N199, N242, N250, N343 and N551.

Threadneedle Street is closed until further notice eastbound only with routes 8, 11, 26, N8, N11, N26 and N242 diverted between Bank and Liverpool Street via Lombard Street, King William Street, Gracechurch Street and Bishopsgate until further notice. Routes 133 and N133 is diverted in both directions between Monument and Liverpool Street via Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate and Wormwood Street. Route N551 towards Trafalgar Square is diverted from Camomile Street via Bishopsgate and Threadneedle Street to Bank and towards Gallions Reach buses are diverted from Bank via Princes Street, Moorgate, South Place, Eldon Street and Blomfield Street to London Wall.

Rye Lane in Peckham is closed in both directions until further notice with routes 12, 37, 63, 78, 197, 343, 363, P12, N63 and N343 diverted via Copeland Road, Consort Road and Clayton Road until further notice. Route P13 is diverted via Lyndhurst Way, Peckham Road and Peckham High Street.

Cannon Street is closed westbound with routes 15, 17, 521, N15 and N199 diverted between Monument and Mansion House via King William Street, Lombard Street and Queen Victoria Street until further notice. Diversion ends 28 May 2021.

Park Street in Croydon is closed eastbound until further notice with routes 60, 109, 433, 455, 468, N68, N109 and N250 towards West or East Croydon diverted via Katharine Street and Park Lane. Buses will not serve stop KE on Park Street and will use stop KC on Park Lane instead.

Katharine Street in Croydon is part closed westbound until further notice with routes 60, 119, 166, 312, 405, 407, 412, 455, 466, 468 and N68 diverted via Fell Road, Park Lane Roundabout and Edridge Road.

Eden Street in Kingston is closed southbound until further notice with routes 65, 71, 85, 281, 406, 418, 465, 671, K4 and N65 diverted via Wheatfield Way and Ashdown Road.

Northcote Road is closed in both directions on Saturdays and Sundays until end of October 2021. Route 319 is diverted in both directions via Bolingbroke Grove and Battersea Rise. Route G1 is diverted in both directions to and from Broomwood Road via Bolingbroke Grove and Battersea Rise.
