Bus changes

New route 733 - 17 January 2022

Route Affected: 733

New temporary route 733 will commence from Monday 17 January running between Oval Station and Moorgate, Finsbury Square. Route 733 will run during the closure of the Bank branch of the Northern line which is due to reopen towards the end of May 2022.

Route 733 will run on Monday to Fridays only between Oval Station and Moorgate, Finsbury Square via Kennington Park Road, Kennington Station, Newington Butts, Elephant & Castle Station, Borough High Street, Borough Station, London Bridge Station, Monument Station, King William Street, Bank Station, Princes Street and Moorgate

Towards Moorgate route 733 will start from bus stop C on Harleyford Street before serving all route 133 bus stops as far as Monument Station and then all route 43 bus stops up to Moorgate with buses terminating at bus stop C at Finsbury Square.

Towards Oval route 733 will start from bus stop K on Moorgate and will then serve all route 43 bus stops as far as Monument Station and then all route 133 bus stops until bus stop Z at Kennington Road with buses then going forward to terminate at bus stop D on Harleyford Street.

Route 733 will run on Monday to Fridays only at a frequency of every 10 minutes before 0630, every 7-8 minutes during both the peaks and the daytime except in the AM peak between 0745 and 0900 towards Moorgate only and in the PM peak between 1645 and 1800 towards Oval when the frequency will be every 6 minutes. The frequency after 2000 until the last bus will be every 10 minutes. There will be no service on Saturdays, Sundays, or Bank Holidays.

First buses will depart Oval Station at 0524 and from Moorgate, Finsbury Square at 0550. Last buses will depart Oval Station at 0005 and from Moorgate, Finsbury Square at 0030.

Route 733 will be operated by Tower Transit using double deck buses.

Route 608 stop changes - 4 January 2022

Route Affected: 608

To help reduce overcrowding on route 498 in the AM peak heading towards Brentwood we will be making changes to the stopping arrangements on route 608 to provide some additional capacity.

In the AM peak buses on route 608 will now serve all bus stops along Brook Street and London Road heading into Brentwood. There will be no change in the PM peak with buses continuing to run express between Brentwood High Street and Petersfield Avenue.

Route 633 extension - 4 January 2022

Route Affected: 633

School route 633 will be extended from Beddington Church to Pollards Hill from Tuesday 4 January. Buses will be extended via Croydon Road, Hilliers Lane, Beddington Lane, Windmill Road, Mitcham Common, Manor Road, Tamworth Lane, Mitcham Eastfields Station, Grove Road, Woodstock Way, Meopham Road, Rowan Way and Wide Way to South Lodge Avenue in both directions.

At Pollards Hill buses will terminate at Bus Stop U, named South Lodge Avenue / Yorkshire Road, which is located on South Lodge Avenue with buses starting from bus stop K, named Ivy Gardens, located on Wide Way.

Buses will be timed to depart from Pollards Hill towards Coulsdon South at 0652 and 1455 and from Coulsdon South towards Pollards Hill at 0728 and 1500.

New route 645 - 4 January 2022

Route Affected: 645

New school route 645 will commence from Tuesday 4 January running between Purley Cross and Waddon, Purley Way via Croydon Town Centre.

Route 645 will replace the current schooldays only journeys on route 405 between Purley Cross and West Croydon Bus Station before extending via Station Road, Tamworth Road, Centrale Tramlink Stop, Drummond Road, Church Street Tramlink Stop, Church Street, Reeves Corner Tramlink Stop, Cairo New Road and Waddon New Road to Waddon Road in both directions.

At Waddon buses will terminate at bus stop SV, named Purley Way / Waddon Road, which is located on Purley Way with buses starting from bus stop EX, named Courtney Road, located on Waddon Road.

Buses on route 645 will be timed to depart from Waddon towards Purley Cross at 0740 and 0741 and from Purley Cross towards Waddon at 1508.
 

Timetable changes - 8 January 2022

Routes Affected: 18, 28, 70, 111, 120, 128, 136, 145, 156, 161, 169, 211, 235, 236, 298, 308, 474, 629, 642, C1, H32 and H37

Route 18 will continue to run its current School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 28 will revert to running a Saturday timetable on weekdays from Monday 10 January until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 70 will continue to run its current School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 111 will continue to run its current School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

The temporary timetable on route 120 will be removed with the frequency of the service restored to run every 8-9 minutes during the AM peak and every 10 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays. The frequency during the daytime on Sundays remains at every 12 minutes and every 15 minutes during the evening.

Route 128 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 136 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 145 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 156 will have a new timetable on schooldays with the 1458 journey from Southfields Academy to Vauxhall Bus Station retimed to depart at 1510 and run 12 minutes later throughout.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 161 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 12 minutes between 0630 and the last bus in each direction. No change to the frequency on Saturdays or Sundays.

Route 169 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 211 will revert to running a Saturday timetable on weekdays from Monday 10 January until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 235 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with an additional journey added in the AM peak from Lower Sunbury to Brentford, Great West Quarter increasing the frequency of the route to every 6-7 minutes between 0730 and 0830. No change to the frequency at any other time. Route 235 will be operated by RATP London from this date and new electric buses will be introduced on the route during 2022.

Route 236 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels. On Thursdays between 1330 and 1800 buses will be retimed to run every 10-11 minutes. On Fridays between 1330 and 1800 buses will be retimed to run every 11 minutes. No change to frequencies at other times.

Route 298 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised during the AM and PM peak to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 308 will have a new timetable on Fridays only with journey times revised during the PM peak to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 474 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 629 will have a new timetable in the morning with the current journeys retimed to depart and run 5 minutes earlier at 0727 (instead of 0732) and 0735 (instead of 0740).

Route 642 will have a new timetable on Wednesdays schooldays only with the 1515 journey from London Academy to West Hendon Broadway withdrawn. No change to journeys on any other days of the week.

Route C1 will revert to running a Saturday timetable on weekdays from Monday 10 January until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route H32 will continue to run its current School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route H37 will continue to run its current School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Timetable changes - 15 January 2022

Routes Affected: 5, 15, 65, 72, 79, 85, 165, 174, 248, 251, 252, 256, 273, 275, 280, 288, 362, 365, 533, H12, N15 and N86

Route 5 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 15 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 12 minutes all day on Monday to Fridays, Saturday evenings and all-day Sundays and every 10 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays.

Route 65 will be running the School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 72 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 10 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 12 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

Route 79 will be running the School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 85 will revert to running a Saturday timetable on weekdays from Monday 17 January until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 165 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 13 minutes during the AM peak, daytime and PM peak and to every 21 minutes during the evening. No change to the frequency on Saturdays or Sundays.

Route 174 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 248 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 9 minutes during the AM peak, daytime and PM peak and to every 16 minutes during the evening. No change to the frequency on Saturdays or Sundays.

Route 251 will be running the School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 252 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 12 minutes during the AM peak, daytime and PM peak. No change to the frequency during the evenings on Monday to Fridays or all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 256 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 12 minutes during the AM peak, daytime and PM peak. No change to the frequency during the evenings on Monday to Fridays or all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 273 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 275 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

The temporary timetable on route 280 will be removed with the frequency of the service restored to run every 10 minutes during the AM peak and PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and to every 12 minutes during the daytime on Sundays. No change to the frequency of the evening service.

Route 288 will be running the School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 362 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with revised departure times during the afternoon and evening to provide better connections with finishing shift times of key workers at King George Hospital.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 365 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays to every 13 minutes during the AM and PM peak and to every 14 minutes during the daytime. No change to the frequency during the evenings on Monday to Fridays or all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 533 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 15 minutes all day long on Monday to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Route H12 will be running the School Holiday timetable on Monday to Fridays until further notice. No change to the timetable on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route N15 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

The last bus on route N86 on Monday to Friday mornings from Harold Hill, Dagnam Park Square to Stratford Bus Station will be retimed to depart at 0435 and run 10 minutes earlier throughout its journey.
 

Timetable changes - 22 January 2022

Routes Affected: 53, 73, 141, 259 and 267

Route 53 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 73 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 6 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 7-8 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

Route 141 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 259 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 10 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 12 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 267 which will widen the frequency of the service on Monday to Fridays between 0700-2000 to every 10-11 minutes, on Saturdays to every 13 minutes between 1000-1900 and on Sundays to every 16 minutes between 1000-1900. No change to the frequency outside of these times. This is due to the bridge works in the Gunnersbury area.

Route 108 stop changes at Stratford International - 22 January 2022

Route Affected: 108

Route 108 will have revised stopping arrangements at Stratford International from Saturday 22 January 2022.

Buses will no longer serve bus stop C on International Way when terminating at Stratford International. Instead buses will be diverted via Montfichet Road and Penny Brookes Street to Celebration Avenue with buses terminating at a newly relocated bus stop D.

Towards Lewisham buses will no longer serve bus stop E and will instead start from bus stop F on International Way.

There is no change to the frequency of route 108.

Timetable changes - 29 January 2022

Routes Affected: 28, 125, 170, 180, 234, E2, N20, N28 and N91

Route 28 will revert back to its normal weekday schedule from Monday 31 January. No change to the schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.

Route 125 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. Route 125 will be operated RATP London from this date.

Route 170 will have a new timetable from this date. Buses will be revised to run every 10 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 12 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

Route 180 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 234 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route E2 which will widen the frequency to every 8-9 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 11 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

Route N20 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route N28 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with minor changes to times.

Route N91 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Hammersmith Bridge closure

Routes Affected: 33, 72, 209, 378, 419, 485, 533, N33 and N72  

Hammersmith Bridge is currently closed to all users, including people walking and cycling, for safety reasons.

Routes 33, 209 and 485 are starting and finishing at the junction of Castelnau and Lonsdale Road to the south of Hammersmith Bridge. Route 72 continues to terminate on the north side of Hammersmith Bridge.

Circular route 533 has been introduced running from Hammersmith Lower Bus Station via Chiswick Bridge, Mortlake High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Lonsdale Road to Castlenau then returning to Hammersmith via Barnes High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Mortlake High Street and Chiswick Bridge. Route 533 runs every 10 minutes in the AM and PM peak on Monday to Fridays and every 12 minutes during the daytime on all days of the week. The evening frequency on all days of the week will remain at a bus every 15 minutes. First buses depart Hammersmith at 0448 and Castelnau at 0510. Last buses depart Hammersmith at 0050 and Castelnau at 0110.

More buses have also been added to route 378 which runs between Mortlake, Barnes High Street and Putney Bridge Station every 7-8 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 10 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route 419 is diverting at the southern end of Hammersmith Bridge to run to and from Roehampton, Bessborough Road replacing route 72 over this section. Route 419 runs every 12 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 20 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route N33 is diverting between Barnes, Red Lion and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road. Route N72 is diverting between Barnes Station and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road.

Long Term Diversions

Routes Affected: 8, 11, 25, 26, 60, 109, 119, 133, 166, 292, 312, 405, 407, 412, 433, 455, 466, 468, 633, EL1, EL3, G1, N8, N11, N25, N26, N68, N109, N133, N242, N250 and N551.

As part of planned works for the new Barking Riverside development Fielders Crescent is closed. Route EL1 and the school journeys on route EL3 are starting and finishing at the road closure limit near to the new London Overground station development. Access to and from Riverside School is from the temporary terminus which is a short walk away from the main entrance. Bus services will be restored to the full length of Fielders Crescent once the road reopens from 5 February 2022.

Threadneedle Street is closed until further notice eastbound only with routes 8, 11, 26, N8, N11, N26 and N242 diverting between Bank and Liverpool Street via Lombard Street, King William Street, Gracechurch Street and Bishopsgate . Routes 133 and N133 are diverting in both directions between Monument and Liverpool Street Bus Station via Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate and Wormwood Street. Route N551 towards Trafalgar Square is diverting from Camomile Street via Bishopsgate and Threadneedle Street to Bank and towards Gallions Reach buses from Bank Station via Princes Street, Moorgate, South Place, Eldon Street and Blomfield Street to London Wall.

Park Street in Croydon is closed eastbound until further notice with routes 60, 109, 433, 455, 468, N68, N109 and N250 towards West or East Croydon diverting via Katharine Street and Park Lane. Buses are not serving stop KE on Park Street and using stop KC on Park Lane instead.

Katharine Street in Croydon is part closed westbound until further notice with routes 60, 119, 166, 312, 405, 407, 412, 455, 466, 468 and N68 are diverting via Fell Road, Park Lane Roundabout and Edridge Road.

Due to roadworks closing bus stops on Capitol Way in Colindale buses on route 292 are currently terminating at bus stop CX, named Carlisle Road, on Edgware Road. Towards Borehamwood buses on route 292 are currently starting at the temporary bus stop on Capitol Way located opposite the car park exit to Asda.

Due to roadworks on Grayshott Road in Battersea route G1 is currently on diversion towards Streatham only. Buses are diverting in the hail and ride section via Tyneham Road and Sabine Road and not serving Eversleigh Road or Grayshott Road. The works are due to finish at the end of January 2022 when buses return to norml route.

Beddington Lane is closed in both directions at Beddington Cross until July 2022. Route 455 is on diversion between Beddington Asda and Ampere Way with buses diverting via Marlowe Way and Beddington Farm Road. Buses are unable to serve Beddington Lane or Coomber Way. Route 463 provides an alternative link between Beddington Asda and Coomber Way. Route 633 will also be diverted in both directions between Beddington Village and Beddington Lane Tram Stop via Marlowe Way, Beddington Farm Road and Coomber Way.
