Thank you for your request received on 22 February 2018 asking for information about Oyster card wallets.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

How many plastic Oyster card wallets were produced in the last year?
What is the cost of production and distribution of the wallets?

Oyster card wallets are provided directly by our ticketing contractor, Cubic, who use the basis of an estimated requirement for around six million wallets a year. Wallet costs incurred by Cubic are not identifiable as a separate expenditure because they are included in core contract deliverables. Transport For London does not order wallets directly from the manufacturer.
