Proposed turn bans onto Lambeth Road

Request ID: FOI-4632-2324
Date published: 10 April 2024

You asked

Where are your statistics showing that this junction is an extreme cyclist accident risk, compared to any other major junction in London? Cyclists are already separated by a cut through lane as your 'Street Investigation' committee is very well aware. As for air quality, your response is not acceptable. Increasingly your anti-car agenda is causing the opposite to your stated objective. Lambeth High st is a single lane road for most of its length with very narrow pavements. Cars will queue to get onto Lambeth road causing way more pollution than current and it's also a real safety concern to pedestrians and cyclists alike. Under the heading Freedom of Information act, please can you provide the source for empirical justification for spending such a vast amount of taxpayers money on a scheme whose objective appears to simply make driving in London even worse than it is already.
