Can you please provide the following information relating to the 281 bus route:
The number of buses that have been curtailed between Surbiton and Tolworth in the past three years. Can you please provide this in a format that shows:
- The number of buses that have not run between Surbiton and Tolworth on a daily basis during this time
- A breakdown by hour of each day as above of the number of buses that have not run between Surbiton and Tolworth to help identify the times of day when the issue is most prevalent

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on9 March 2024 asking for information about the 281 bus route. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. Please see the attached zip folder covering data from 1 March 2022 to 29 February 2024. No data is available prior to March 2022.
The files are presented by trips operated on each day and direction. The time stamps at stops show that the bus was recorded as having served the stop.
The files show the following services for the 281 bus route:
281 indicates a normal day time service.
N281 indicates a night time service.
281R indicates a special day time service on rugby days at Twickenham Stadium.
281N indicates a special night time service on rugby days at Twickenham Stadium.
