TfL Ref: 4450-1718

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 8 February 2018 asking for information about Cyclist incidents involving London buses.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.  You asked: I would like to know how many incidents occurred between cyclists and London buses in the years 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014.

Personal injury collisions involving buses and coaches are reported as a single category under Department for Transport (DfT) national STATS20 instructions.  The latest available provisional information we have available from the Police on TfL’s ACCSATS system, is to the end of March 2017. All 2017 records are currently provisional and subject to change.

Please find attached casualty data for the number of pedal cyclists injured in collisions involving a bus or coach in London between January 2014 to March 2017. All STATS19 records involve personal injury and refer to collisions reported by the police, or in some cases a member of the public, and occurring on the public highway; we do not hold damage only collisions information.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
