Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on14 February 2024 asking for information about Travel Plan Accreditation.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The criteria for Bronze Accreditation is as follows:
Complete 10 travel activities and 6 supporting activities in the school year 1 (September 2022 – 31August 2023). The activities are counted in the school year that the ‘To Date’ falls into.
Complete and nominate a Hands-up Survey of how the pupils usually travel to school. Information and supporting material on how this is carried out is available here: https://travelforlife.tfl.gov.uk/Explore/Idea/Details/1090, There is no further verification process in place for the survey.
Bronze applications are verified by the Borough teams, in this case Waltham Forest’s school travel planning team.
The school met all the criteria for the Bronze accreditation. The school was required to upload details of the required activities, surveys and targets to the Travel for Life website, which they successfully completed. This was viewed and approved by the Borough Officer. TfL only views and approves applications at Silver or above.
