You asked
Follow-on from FOI-3795-2324: Dear ,
Thank you for your answer and the resources you kindly provided. I looked through them beforehand, and I found a lot of data that I’m interested in, but some data is still missing.
I understand that I ask for a lot of data, so I’m narrowing my focus.
The most important data:
- Length of road lanes dedicated to buses, including bus-only streets. This is the most important data for my research. I found that there is a bus lane database, although it is not directly available. So I assume this wouldn’t be so difficult to obtain.
- Average speed of buses
- Fares: I managed to find most of the data on fares (see attached), but some bits of data are still missing for the earlier days. I would greatly appreciate the data for the missing years.
A little less important
- Length of road lanes dedicated to trams, including tram-only streets.
- Average speed of trams
It is important that every kind of data is available for every year (well, I could interpolate if there is a year missing.). Here's an example of the data I have for Barcelona:
Is that request be more reasonable? If needed, I could also select a shorter time frame. As the bus lane length is the most important data, the time frame would be adjusted to the availability of this data.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on14 February2024 asking for information about transport in London.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
However, to provide the information you have requested would still exceed the ‘appropriate limit’ of £450 set by the Freedom of Information (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004. Under section 12 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to comply with a request if we estimate that the cost of determining whether we hold the information, locating and retrieving it and extracting it from other information would exceed the appropriate limit. As previously mentioned, it would take in excess of 18 hours to locate the information you have requested which, calculated at £25 per hour for every hour spent on the activities described, exceeds the ‘appropriate limit’. Due to the volume, breadth and vast timeframe of the information you have requested, a significant amount of resources and time would be required to determine whether we hold this information, and then to extract and collate any relevant information we may hold that would fall within the scope of your request.
To help bring the cost of responding to your request within the £450 limit, you may wish to narrow its scope so that we can more easily locate, retrieve and extract the information you are seeking. You might also consider limiting your request to a particular period of time.
