TfL Ref: 3876-2425
Thank you for your email received on 3 March 2025 by Transport for London (TfL) and further email providing clarification to your request on 7 March 2025 asking for information about Countdown signage in Harrow.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You requested the following information:
Of late I find the electronic bus time table displayed at strategic bus stops are malfunctioning and there seems to be a long delay in rectifying these faults. For example bus stop 87287287 and the other at Rayners Lane.
Please do not advice to use my mobile phone to find the arrival times.
As part of my FOI Request please let me know overall efficiency of the system in Harrow from 1st Jan to 28th Feb 2025.
After seeking clarification in reference to the bus stop number mentioned above and whether the ‘overall efficiency of the system’ was for all Countdown signage in the London Borough of Harrow or solely in reference to the aforementioned bus stops, you confirmed that:
The code at Pinner is 58959.
The countdown monitor at times does not work, or frozen or provides faulty information.
The countdown monitor performance solely for 58959 will be sufficient
Having investigated further, we can advise that the above Countdown signage at: Bus Stop D in Love Lane, SMS Code: 58959, Stop Code: 4543, has not had any reported faults with its performance - whether it be cases opened, pending or resolved - since October 2024.
Our Countdown App Engineer has also taken snapshots of this Countdown on Mondays and Fridays since October 2024. In all of these reports its Countdown status was recorded as ‘OK’, and its working status was ‘On’.
If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
