Our ref:           FOI-3759-1920

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 March 2020 asking for information about the Holocaust Memorial.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our Information Access Policy. You asked for:

Any correspondence (electronic or hard copy) and any record of the content of phone calls (i) between Transport for London and government departments and (ii) between Transport for London and the Mayor or the Mayor’s Office since January 2016 relating to issues arising from the proposed location of the Holocaust Memorial and Learning Centre in Victoria Tower Gardens.

Please find attached the information you requested.

In accordance with the EIR, we have redacted personal information as it is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information under Regulation 13. This exemption to your right of access is applied in accordance with TfL’s obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The exemption applies because disclosure of personal information would be a breach of the GDPR, specifically the first principle of the GDPR which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful.

Please note, the Government has announced a series of measures to tackle the coronavirus. It is essential for London, and in particular for all critical workers, that we continue to provide a safe transport network that enables them to make the journeys they need to.

In current circumstances, we are not able to answer requests readily and we ask that you please do not make a request to us at present.

Answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. In any event, please note that our response time will be affected by the current situation.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
Melissa Nichols
