Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14^th February 2025 asking for information about TfL vehicles.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIRs) and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“Can you please confirm the total number of vehicles that TFL have. Off these which emissions do they emit I.e. diesel, petrol.”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

In regard to the TfL road fleet, the breakdown is as follows:

The vehicles are leased, apart from 33 larger / specialist vehicles which are owned by TfL.

In regard to buses, information about emissions is already published via the annual bus fleet audits which can be found on our website via the following link:

https://content.tfl.gov.uk/fleet-annual-audit-report-31-march-2024.pdf - see table 5. Of the total fleet, TfL own the 998 New Routemasters and 20 Hydrogen vehicles.
