Request ID: FOI-3449-2223 Date published: 06 April 2023
You asked
Dear Transport for London,
Please supply any and all communications with xxxx.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-3449-2223
Thank you for your request of 20th March 2023 asking for all communications TfL has had with xxxx.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
I am afraid that without further details of who this person is - and in particular their email address - there is no way we can determine what information is held within the costs limit for responding to FOI cases, as set out under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Under section 12, TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if that information is held, and to then locate, retrieve or extract it from elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour, equivalent to 18 hours work.
In this case, without an email address with which to run an automated search, there is no way we can determine exactly what is held within the 18 hour limit. Note that given the vast range of TfL services, with our transport modes used by millions of people daily, and the fact we have been in operation since the year 2000, it is possible that we will have corresponded with more than one person with that same name. If you would like us to consider the matter further, please provide more details that would enable us to identify this individual uniquely, and in particular the contact details they would have used to correspond with us. It would also be advisable to specify a timeframe which your request covers to ensure that any searches can be as targeted as possible.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
