Thank you for your request of 14^th March 2019 asking for information about road works on the A3 at Tolworth Junction.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

Your questions are answered in turn below:

Question 1) What repair work is being carried out and why?

The repair programme will be carried out to sections of the safety barrier and posts which have been damaged and corroded.

Question 2) How much will the work cost?

The estimated cost of the work on the damaged and corroded sections, which is over 1 kilometre in length, is £106,200.

Question 3) How long will the work take including details of the phasing of the work and progress milestones for each stage of the work?

A bespoke safety fence is currently being manufactured and is expected to be on site by 1 April 2019, with the start date for site works due to commence on that same date. The works will be carried out in one phase and it is expected to take one week to fully complete.
