Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20 March 2023.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please clarify if the minimum salary for the Principal Engineering Leader of £32,116 is a typo or a part time role.

I can confirm that the previous information provided included part time roles – the FTE salary information is below:

JobsNumber of EmployeesMin of Annual salary Max of Annual salary
Principal Engineer69£ 67,500.00 £ 90,000.00
Principal Engineering Leader63£ 75,000.00 £ 104,000.00

Could you provide individual dates and individual annual salaries awarded to the Principal Engineer, Principal Engineering Leader and Principal Project Engineer roles as identified in your table.

This information is exempt from disclosure, as providing dates and salaries awarded to individuals is personal information. Any information which can identify individuals is exempt from disclosure under Data Protection legislation, and as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.

If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
