What were the circumstances of these assaults, and the nature of the injuries?
How many tfl ambassadors have been permanently precluded from applying for shifts in the 2022/23 financial year?
How many tfl ambassadors have been temporarily precluded from applying for shifts in the 2022/23 financial year, and what's the length of their ban?
What were the reasons for precluding tfl ambassadors from applying for shifts? I would like to specifically know about instances involving conduct leading to staff assault or any kind of falsification or dishonesty. (E.g. forging a signature, etc.) How many tfl ambassadors have been referred to a disciplinary hearing as a result of their conduct or performance as a tfl ambassador, and what was the reason for their referral?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14 March 2023 asking for information about our TfL Ambassadors.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Our staff have the right to do their job without fear or intimidation and we do not tolerate any violence, aggression or threatening behaviour towards them. We take workplace violence extremely seriously and know that it is underreported, which is why we always encourage staff to report any instance of abuse, physical or non-physical.
Your questions and our replies are as follows:
How many TfL Ambassadors have been assaulted in the 2022/23 financial year? We cannot guarantee that every instance has been reported to TfL, however we can confirm that we have no records of an Ambassador reporting being physically assaulted.
What were the circumstances of these assaults, and the nature of the injuries? N/A
How many TfL Ambassadors have been permanently precluded from applying for shifts in the 2022/23 financial year? One
How many TfL Ambassadors have been temporarily precluded from applying for shifts in the 2022/23 financial year, and what's the length of their ban? 13 TfL Ambassadors have been temporarily precluded from applying for shifts across the 2022/23 financial year ranging from two weeks to three months.
What were the reasons for precluding TfL Ambassadors from applying for shifts? I would like to specifically know about instances involving conduct leading to staff assault or any kind of falsification or dishonesty. (E.g. forging a signature, etc.)There were various reasons including repeated lateness, repeated rule breaking, repeated non-attendance. We are unable to provide more specific details on this in accordance with section 40 of the FOI Act. Please note that in accordance with TfL’s obligations under Data Protection legislation some personal data has not been disclosed, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.
