You said that costs have been incurred over a long period and have been absorbed by a number of business areas including the NLE team and have often been recorded as incidental to business as usual and therefore it is not possible to extract from other business costs as a single element. I thought if it was not possible to give a figure on the entire investigation, the following might be better. Could you please let me know the cost of the tests which have been carried out on the water and how much it cost to divert the inflow of new water and to dig out the ballast over 400m?

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for the cost of the tests which have been carried out on the water and how much it cost to divert the inflow of new water and to dig out the ballast over 400m at Kennington station.

To date, the cost of the two water tests undertaken was £700 each. We do not yet hold the final cost for the remainder of the works as they are still ongoing and will continue until the issue is resolved.
