Dear TFL,
I'd like to make a request under the Freedom of Information act regarding the amount of waste collected from trains on the Underground network, defined as all trains that run on the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City lines.
Please provide, in an excel spreadsheet, the total amount of rubbish and waste collected off of the trains which has been left by the public, split by each line and month over the last year.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 28 February 2023 asking for information about waste on London Underground. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked: I'd like to make a request under the Freedom of Information act regarding the amount of waste collected from trains on the Underground network, defined as all trains that run on the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Hammersmith & City, Jubilee, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City lines. Unfortunately we do not hold the specific the information you have requested. To explain further, although we collate waste volumes to some level, the data we hold cannot be split into waste from trains and waste from stations/commercial let waste as the two types of waste are not collated separately.
We have therefore attached the data we hold for 2022 broken down by month and line just not specifically to waste collected from trains alone.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
