Our ref: FOI-3173-1819/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20 February 2019 asking for information about cycling casualties.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
Most of this information can be ascertained from the collision data extracts that are held on the TfL website at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/road-safety. The last five finalised years are 2013 to 2017.
Cycle Hire information is not shown in these extracts so we have provided the attached spreadsheet listing the collision reference number of each collision where a pedal cyclist casualty was riding a Hire Bike in Greater London – 2013 to 2017. The reference number can then be used to search for the other information in the raw data extracts. Location is shown as a text description and an easting and northing (Ordnance Survey grid reference), we do not record longitude and latitude.
We do not receive information relating to whether there was any prosecution.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
