I would like to see data which could answer the following questions about Santander Cycles:
1. How many stations have been added per year?
2. How many stations are planned to be added this year?
3. Which areas of London are next in line to be covered by Santander Cycles?
Additionally, is there an API (or are there plans to create one) which could provide anonymised data about Santander Cycle usage?

Thank you for your request received by TfL on 19th February 2019 asking for information about the Santander cycle hire scheme.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Your questions are answered in turn below:
Question 1. How many stations have been added per year?
Answer: The following table shows the number of docking stations in operation in each year since 2010 when the scheme began:

Question 2. How many stations are planned to be added this year?
Answer: There are no planned additional docking stations this year (but some stations will be relocated due to developments).
Question 3. Which areas of London are next in line to be covered by Santander Cycles?
Answer: There are no plans for expansions at this time
Question 4. Additionally, is there an API (or are there plans to create one) which could provide anonymised data about Santander Cycle usage?
Answer: Yes, there is a live API available https://api.tfl.gov.uk/ and open data covering historic hires http://cycling.data.tfl.gov.uk/
