Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 November 2023 asking for information about Taxi and Private Hire licences.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Taxi and private hire vehicles are licensed on an annual basis and where there is a period of relicensing some data in the vehicle records are overwritten to reflect the new licence. Therefore, the information available is a snapshot of all licensed taxi and private hire vehicles. This information is now published on our website, and will be updated quarterly:
November 2023 data is currently available, and this is the most recent data we hold. This data will be updated quarterly. All vehicles are licensed in London by Transport for London.
