Freedom of Information request - Legible London sign location
Request ID: FOI-2998-1718
Date published: 06 February 2018
You asked
Happy 10 year anniversary to the Legible London scheme!
I'm interested in how the scheme is developed, and would like to request a list of the locations and types of Legible London signs that are currently installed (or planned to be installed).
Preferably this would be in Excel or CSV format, and would include GPS coordinates, as well as any details available like street name, the type of sign (fingerpost, monolith, minilith, etc), the Village & Neighbourhood names (e.g. "Bloomsbury" / "Byng Place"), and the name of any organisation who sponsored or co-sponsored the installation.
If you do not hold complete information, I would be happy to receive any information you do currently have, even if only partial.
We answered
Our ref: FOI-2998-1718/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19 January 2018 asking for information about Legible London sign location.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require.
We do not hold a central register showing all the Legible London signs and the additional information you have requested. Therefore to answer your request we would need to carry out a detailed audit which would be at considerable expense to TfL, and we are not obliged to answer your question if it would require the creation of new information.
I am sorry that we are unable to assist you on this occasion.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
