I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Your questions are answered in turn below:
Question 1: I would like to know the process for leaving a TfL Apprenticeship, is there a specific notice period that I must meet;
Answer: The process for resigning from a TfL Apprenticeship is as per the contract of employment - which is a 4 week notice period.
Question 2: If I have already begun the educational part of my apprenticeship (college studies), could this have an effect on me dropping out and how quickly I could leave.
Answer: No, your notice period applies at any point.
Question 3: Does the DfE fund TfL Apprenticeships?
Answer: The DfE funds the apprenticeship training element of the apprenticeship. TfL funds all other elements i.e. Apprentice pay.
Question 4: Am I allowed to leave a TFL Apprenticeship to join an apprenticeship at a different employer.
Answer: Yes.
Question 5: Am I allowed to leave a TfL Apprenticeship to go and join another TfL/LU Apprenticeship?
Answer: Typically no. Individuals are supported to successfully complete the apprenticeship they commence prior to securing other roles at TfL.
Question 6: Am I allowed to leave a TfL Apprenticeship to join an actual TfL/LU job (e.g. CSA)?
Answer: As above - typically no. Individuals are supported to successfully complete the apprenticeship they commence prior to securing other roles at TfL.
Question 7: What are the year on year salary rises for Level 4 Power Engineering Apprentices?
Answer: As follows:

Question 8: What are the year on year salary rises for Level 4 Vehicles Engineering Apprentices?
Answer: As follows:

Question 9: If there is a difference in salaries, why is this so, as they are both undertaking the same qualification and are for the same duration of time?
Answer: Individuals employed as Level 4 Power Engineering Apprentices are employed by London Underground and are paid in accordance with London Underground Pay Frameworks. Individuals employed as Level 4 Vehicles Engineering Apprentices are employed by TfL Engineering and paid in accordance with the TfL Apprentice Pay Framework. The qualification element is only one element of the apprenticeship and the different schemes involve different elements to help apprentices develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the specific scheme preparing them for different roles within TfL/London Underground.
Question 10: What is the starting salary of a Train Maintainer in 2024? please provide figures including and excluding night/unsociable hours allowance.
Answer: Train Maintainer salaries vary dependant on role responsibilities, shift pattern salary is inclusive of any night/unsociable hours. 2024 salary frameworks have not been confirmed yet. Example salaries at 01 April 2023:

Question 11: What is the starting salary for a Band 2 Engineer in Central Engineering in 2024?
Answer: Starting salaries vary according to discipline but average salary would be circa £36,000
