You asked

How many times in the last two years, with dates, have you cleaned the Central Line between Liverpool Street and Mile End?

We answered

TfL Ref: 2955-1718

Thank you for your emails received by us on 16 and 17 January 2018 asking for information about cleaning on London Underground’s Central line between Liverpool Street and Mile End.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

I understand TfL carries out occasional operations to clean the lines on the Underground and I am simply asking whether any such operations have been conducted on this section of the Underground in the last two years

I can advise that we have undertaken cleaning operations on this stretch of the Central line over the last two years.

For example, metal picking is implemented at Liverpool Street Station covering points and crossings on a quarterly basis. Additionally, weekly litter picker patrols take place from Holborn to Bethnal Green and from Bethnal Green to Stratford in both directions.

Attached is a copy of the Cleaning of the Track Environment standard that may also be of interest.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
