Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18th March 2022 asking for information about the speed limit on Tibbet’s Ride, SW15.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. However, please note that this stretch of road does not form part of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN - sometimes known as the ‘red routes’ - see here for more information: https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/red-routes). Rather, the road is the responsibility of the local authority. With this is mind, we can answer your questions as follows:

Question 2: Please provide the date that the 20mph speed limit was changed to 30mph at Tibbet's Ride SW15

Answer: TfL does not hold the requested information. The enforcement of speed limits on London’s roads is a matter for the Metropolitan Police - FOI requests can be made via their website here: https://www.met.police.uk/foi-ai/af/accessing-information/

Answer: We have checked our records back to August 2017 when the current case management system for Customer Services came into effect. In that time we have received no such complaints. The closest match we found was about Tibbet’s Corner (the roundabout at the top end of Tibbet’s Ride), and this was about temporary roadworks rather than speed limits
Question 6: Please provide dates and summaries of any and all consultations by TfL or any agency to change speed limit back to 30mph at Tibbet's Ride SW15
Answer: TfL has not conducted any such consultation. You may wish to refer this question to Wandsworth Council.
